Recent Ford Recalls

on 12/03/2012

Ford Motor Company announced late Friday the 4 cylinder 1.6 liter eco-boost engine is under recall for overheating causing a safety concern. According to Ford, engine compartment fires have resulted from the overheating issue, however no injuries have been caused.

The recall is affecting approximately 73,320 of the 2013 Ford Escape and 15,833 of the 2013 Ford Fusion. Ford states that no other engines are being affected by this recall.

If you drive one of these vehicles and encounter the overheating and fire problem, drivers should pull over to the side of the road when safe to do so, turn off the engine and promptly get out of the vehicle.

Ford is currently working to fix this issue, but strongly suggests customers contact their dealerships to arrange alternate transportation.
