Spring break is right around the corner! Road trips and sunny weather are on the horizon! There are a few things you want to be prepared for when taking a road trip. Not only do you have to be prepared, but you need to make sure your car is prepared for the miles ahead.

Here are a few tips to get your vehicle road trip ready!

~Checking all the basics is just as important as the other stuff. Check all your lights to be sure they are working and are bright and well seen.

~Check your gauges to be sure they are all functioning as they should. There is nothing worse than thinking you have a half  tank of gas left and getting stranded on the side of the road.

~Depending on what time of year you are traveling and what the temperatures are going to be, it's a good idea to check your air conditioning and heat.

~Check your wipers to be sure they are working and in good condition. It is important to have a good visual field and bad wipers can leave big streaks making it difficult to see.

~Check your battery to be sure it is in good condition and holds a charge well. It is also a good idea to bring a portable jump start with you if you can, just in case.

~You're going to want to check your brakes before leaving on a long road trip. This is especially important when traveling through the mountains.

~While you are having your brakes checked have your mechanic check your tires to be sure they are in good condition for long distance driving. Also have them check your spare and tools to be sure you will have everything you will need in case of that unexpected flat.

~You'll want to have your belts, hoses, and fluids all checked as well. These are the veins and life blood of your vehicle and running dry on any of them can cause many different issues for your vehicle.

A few things that aren't on your car  that you will want to make sure you bring are; a map, phone and charger, extra fluids for your vehicle, music, snacks, and maybe a few games, and an emergency kit just in case.

Leaving well prepared leads to a great road trip with endless possibilities! Call today to have your vehicle inspected for your road  trip! Have a great Spring Break!
