Meet the Staff
Bill White has an A.A.S. Degree in automotive technology. He is an A.S.E. Master certified technician and has additional training at the G.M. and Toyota training center along with continuous ongoing training to keep up to date with current technology. Bill was employed by local dealerships from 1983 until 1991 when he and his wife, Vonei, opened the C.A.R. Hospital. He was previously employed as a part time automotive instructor at Kishwaukee College and currently serves on the Kishwaukee College automotive advisory committee. He has lived in the Sycamore/DeKalb area all his life. He enjoys classic & muscle cars, home repair & remodeling and traveling with Vonei.
A.S.E. Certified Service Advisor
Rachel Rautio is our A.S.E. Certified Service Advisor and has been with the Car Hospital since 2015. She has Service Advisor and Advanced Service Advisor training and has been a service writer since 2011. She is the main contact at our front counter, and is responsible for documenting your vehicle concerns, preparing estimates based on technicianís findings, and discussing repair options. Rachel was born & raised in Sycamore, and currently lives in Genoa with her husband, Dylan, and their daughter, Abigail. She likes to read, go to drag races, bake, cook, and play with her daughter.
Bob Michels, attended Universal Technical Institute and joined our team in 2017, but has been in the field for almost 19 years. He is originally from Aurora, but currently resides in Sandwich. He has one daughter, Morgan, and he enjoys anything outdoors, traveling and racing. He is also an excellent marksman and cook.
Terri Goodman joined our team in 2018 as the PR Specialist to help spread the word about our first-rate shop, staff and service via digital marketing, social media, chamber and community events. She is a Sycamore native who comes to public relations after teaching music in the public schools for 26 years. Terri, her husband, Ken and their daughter, Alise, enjoy traveling and participating in music and theatre events.
Sean Condon is our Lead Technician and has been with us since 2004. He has an A.A.S. degree in Automotive Technology from Kishwaukee College and is an A.S.E. Certified Technician. He attends continuous ongoing training to keep up to date with current technology, including digital diagnostics. Sean is originally from Sycamore, but currently resides in Rochelle with his wife, Jillian, and their 3 children. He enjoys playing guitar and dirt biking.
Customer Service Rep
Joy Smart has been with us since 2016. In addition to answering the phones, she provides shuttle rides and follows up with customers to provide them with an excellent experience and address any concerns. Joy has completed the Service Advisor and Public Relations Workshops, as well as the Advanced Marketing Program through Management Success. Born and raised in Washington State, she has been in the DeKalb area since 2001. She enjoys playing a variety of instruments and traveling with her family, which includes her daughters, Belle and Faith.
